What is Plantar Fasciitis? The plantar fascia is a band of tissue (fascia) that connects your heel bone to the base of your toes. It supports the arch of the foot and absorbs shock when walking. It's a very important part of your foot and aids it through the entire gait cycle to ensure equal pressure distribution.

Tension and stress on the fascia can cause damage which can irritate it and cause pain. There are some more common causes of Plantar Fasciitis:

  • Some activities place a lot of stress on your heel and attached tissue. These include long-distance running, ballet and aerobic dance.
  • Foot mechanics.Flat feet, a high arch or any unusual walking gait can affect the way weight is distributed when you're standing and can increase pressure on the area.
  • "Standing" occupations.People who spend most of their working hours upright (whether standing or walking) on hard surfaces can be at increased risk of plantar fasciitis.
  • Excess weights puts excess pressure on our plantar fascia.

Sometimes the cause is unclear, but we can help solve the problem and relieve pain and
